The track is called Turtle Spin, from the CD called Uncle Mean. Quite jazzy, with some funk, swing, and blues stirred in there.

This track is actually used by quite a well known podcast as its signature tune - so the prize of public fame by mention in a future show is up for the firts person to email and let me know which podcast uses Turtle Spin as its signature music.

New Show - New Place to Get It

What is in this show?

The 5th generation of the Chrysolite studio - also known as the studio in a suitcase. Tim Miller, Tony Knowles, and Paul Vernon talk about their work on the new Chrysolite. Unfortunately, Charles Randall was away on holiday, but we hope to get him onto a future podcast when he can wax lyrical about the design and purposes of the new mixer in the Chrysolite.

Important note about the RSS feed and blog …

Our original hosting for the podcast was on Odeo, and the blog was on Blogger. Odeo is behaving itself this week, but has become unreliable since ownership changed, so the show has now in fact been moved to Liberated Syndication (or Libsyn), which takes care of the audio and blog hosting in the same place. If you have been subscribing or reading via the Odeo and Blogger feeds, please change these to the Libsyn feeds. The feed to subscribe via iTunes has also changed – our stats show that most subscriber listeners (about 90 of you currently) are getting the podcast via iTunes – and so please make sure that you have subscribed to the Libsyn feed in iTunes and not to the Odeo feed.

The new blog using Libsyn doesn’t look ast pretty as the old one – there is a bit of a learning curve in working with the code. Hopefully it will improve slowly.

Casting Hope would like to be a comment-driven podcast, so please comment away … and pass the info on to others you think might be interested.

We are not at all certain what is happening at Odeo since it was bought by someone else - but we do know that we have not been able to successfull upload a new podcast there for almost a week and a half. So we have opened up a Liberated Syndication (Libsyn) account, and will use that in the future.

If you have been grabbing the podcast with RSS, please change your feed settings to:

http://feba.libsyn.com/rss

If you have been getting the podcast via iTunes - we have registered for the Libsyn feed to send it directly to iTunes, and this is already working. We recommend you delete the original subscription, and start a new one using the URL http://feba.libsyn.com/rss

You cannot, for now, get new shows on the existing iTunes subscription. Not their fault, just a broken link from Odeo. Libsyn coms with its own blog options, and we may migrate from this blog to theirs in due course - but we will let you know well in advance.

It's a wet summer so far in the UK, but this show captures the sounds and ministry vision of sunny Mozambique, in the Niasa Province town of Chiconono.

What is in this show?

Aubie Banda works with Radio Chiunjota as part of mission work in Chiconono. Originally from Malawi, Aubie's life changed dramatically when as a young Muslim labourer he heard Christian songs being sung in a language he could understand. His story is worth listening to.

Custodio Tivane is the recently appointed Director of Feba Radio Mozambique. He has expansive vision for using radio to reach parts of that enormous country with the hope and love of Jesus Christ. Custodio shares a little about his life, and you can just hear his passion as he talks about Feba's partnership with Radio Chiunjota.

It's overdue, I know, but 5 weeks away in Africa is not yet conducive to easy uploading of podcast sized files. One day soon! What is in this show? Two things:

Paul Zimmerman, missionary to the Mwane people, chats about his new radio project in Makamia, in the Cabo Delgado province of Mozambique. Makamia is on top of a mountain that looks towards the coast of northern Mozambique. Placing a transmitter there means the new station will potentially reach 95% of the Kimwane speaking tribe, who live on or very near the sea. A hard-to-reach Muslim group, years of dedicated work amongst them have now realised 7 converts - and contact with less than half of the known villages. Radio will be a great tool in the hands of these committed workers.

Jon Hargreaves talks about what LIFTING THE LID, a leadership development initiative, is all about. It starts in September, and Jon is preparing for the opening gathering of invited Feba staff from various locations. It's a 3 year plan, will require hard work and application, but plans to be a useful catalyst in deepening Feba's leadership talent.

Jon Hargreaves is Feba' International Director, and a champion of missionary involvement in community radio projects. He discusses what some of the opportunities are in Asia, and why he believes Feba should be 100% committed to a community FM model.

Mark Taylor talks to FEBC's Engineering Coordinator Mike Adams about the emergency relief radio project FEBC and Feba are involved with. We also hear from Feba UK Chief Executive, John Bartlett about what directions and challenges face Feba UK.

The emergency relief radio project is a partnership of agencies being led by FEBC to provide a radio station up and running within 72 hours in times of national or regional disasters.
